Why did you make this app?

Because all the other waste calendar apps are both pretty bad and inaccessible.

Apps for the public need to be accessible and usable by everyone. But this very low bar is apparently still too high for all the ‘official’ apps provided by local governments or municipalities. And after seeing my own local waste calendar app become even worse in the last three years instead of better, this app is my answer.

Are you tracking me?

Nope! This app doesn’t track you at all.

However, it does request your data using your address details from your local waste collection agency. Now, they may or may not store this information for tracking purposes, but I can’t manage that. You can read your agency’s statement on this by looking up their privacy policy here.

Where do you get your data from?

Your waste calendar data is fetched directly from your local waste collection agency, using the address details that you provide. Of course, because there are many, many different agencies that all handle waste differently, the translation from their data to this app can contain mistakes. If you find a mistake, let me know through e-mail!

Why isn’t my waste schedule loading?

There are many, many waste collection agencies in The Netherlands and not all of them are supported yet. For a complete list on which agencies are supported, please visit our privacy policy.

If your agency is not on the list, let me know and I can look into adding it for you!

Why is my waste schedule wrong?

I try to translate the complicated data from your local waste agency to the more simple version used in this app. This can contain errors, but I’m happy to address those. Let me know if you have a problem through e-mail.

Can you add this feature?

If you have a good feature that you would like to see in the app, let me know! I’m full of ideas myself, so I’m happy to hear what you are missing.

Is there an Android version?

There is no Android version of this app yet. However, there are many apps in the Play Store that address the same issue, so if you find a good, accessible one to recommend, let me know!
